Funeral Services at Christian Assembly –

We want to offer some recommendations to help you through this difficult time.  Take a look at these frequently asked questions:

1. Is there someone at the church who can help me make funeral and burial arrangements?  We recommend that you contact a professional funeral director to better understand  your options and how to arrange for your loved one’s resting place or cremation.
2. Is space generally available for a funeral service on the Christian Assembly campus?  Consider holding the service at a local funeral home or a space available at the cemetery where your loved one will be laid to rest.  Our facilities are not guaranteed to be available.  You are welcome to request space on our campus by filling out the Funeral Service Questionnaire. Note that our availability is most often Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday morning.
3. Is there space available for a reception on the Christian Assembly campus?  Does the church offer any food or beverage?  Find a location for a reception following the funeral where family and friends can gather.  This might simply be done in a home or in an event space.  We are generally not able to offer reception space or food and beverages.
4. Are musicians from Christian Assembly available for funerals?  Make arrangements with a musician (either a volunteer or a paid musician) who can provide music in the service if that is desired.  Christian Assembly cannot guarantee the availability of a musician.  You must make those arrangement independently.
5. Who else should be involved in the funeral service?  Identify one, two, or three people who you can ask to share some personal words about your loved one during the funeral service.
6. Are there any costs involved with a Christian Assembly pastor leading a funeral?  It is customary to give an honorarium to the pastor who leads the funeral service.  An honorarium is a financial gift of appreciation for the time and service rendered.  There is no standard amount for the honorarium.  We simply request that you consider a fair and reasonable amount to give.  The honorarium can be given to the pastor before or at the conclusion of the funeral service.
